Signs your teen may benefit from Teen therapy

The teenage years bring real change, but some shifts are worth paying closer attention to:

  • Withdrawing from friends, family, or activities they used to enjoy

  • A sudden drop in grades, or refusing to go to school

  • Increased irritability, mood swings, or angry outbursts

  • Racing thoughts, excessive worry, or physical complaints like stomachaches and headaches

  • Noticeable changes in sleep or eating patterns

  • Persistent sadness, hopelessness, or low energy

  • Frequent meltdowns or difficulty managing big emotions

  • Struggles with self-esteem, body image, or identity

  • Constant or intense conflict with parents or siblings

  • Adjusting to a big transition, such as divorce, a move, starting high school, or college applications

Trust your instincts. If something feels off with your teen, it is worth having a professional take a closer look.

How We Help Teens

Individual Therapy for Teens

A private, age-appropriate space where teens can work through what they are experiencing with a therapist trained specifically in adolescent development.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Helps teens identify and reframe the thought patterns driving anxiety, low mood, or self-criticism. Learn more about our CBT services.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Builds skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and communication, especially useful for teens who feel overwhelmed by their emotions. Learn more about our DBT services.

School-Based Support

For teens facing academic stress, school refusal, or difficulty in the classroom, our therapists can collaborate on school-related supports, including IEP and 504 planning where appropriate.

Family Sessions

Because a teen does not exist in isolation from their household, we offer family therapy alongside individual sessions when it supports a teen's progress.

College and Career Readiness

For older teens, therapy can also include support with the stress of college applications and the transition into early adulthood.

How to get started

Step 1: Reach out. As a parent or guardian, call us at 475-477-0278 or book online to tell us what you are seeing at home or hearing from school.

Step 2: Get matched. We will connect your teen with a therapist experienced in adolescent development and the concerns they are facing.

Step 3: Begin sessions. In person or via telehealth, your teen starts working with a therapist focused on helping them build confidence, coping skills, and stability.

Your Teen Does Not Have to Figure This Out Alone
